Bruja me ha encantado, y al mismo tiempo lo he aborrecido. Había momentos en los que me ponía los pelos de punta y lo amaba, y otros en los que lo quería quemar. Mi cara pasaba de la satisfacción a la ira en segundos. Igual os estáis preguntando el porqué. La primera parte del libro me pareció espectacular, hasta que me di cuenta de que eran las mismas ideas repetidas de forma diferente. Es decir, el libro tiene muchísima paja. Fácilmente le sobran unas 150 páginas -o más- (y por cierto, nombró su libro Love your lady landscape unas diez veces). O sea, es súper importante hablar del machismo, el patriarcado y la caza de brujas (el episodio más misógino de la historia). Pero pienso que todo podría haberse resumido más, simplemente eliminando ideas que no hacían más que reiterarse. THIS Woman. Knowing that how it is for me, will be different from how it is for you, but recognising that there will be themes + threads + that, let’s face it, IT’S ALL SACRED. If every woman read this book, we would change the world...for the better. I highly recommend this book to all women, and Witches in particular, because it speaks to us in so many levels as it encourages us to break down the prisons of the patriarchy. I love Lisa Lister’s unapologetic voice, her audacity, her refusal to be timid, to think inside the box, to color within the lines, and to fit within the mold, all designed for those of us with ovaries by those without them. She's wise, a healer, someone who is aligned with the cycles of mumma nature and the phases of the moon. Yet for so long, the word 'witch' has had negative connotations being used as an insult, a slur and to perpetuate fear. In this book, third generation hereditary witch Lisa Lister explains the history behind witchcraft, why in past centuries the word witch has led women to be tortured, drowned and burned at the stake, and why the witch is now waking once again in women across the world today.

It felt so unbelievably patronising as a cis woman for my power to be reduced to my pussy and womb.Now, this is not a rant review!!! There were so many parts I loved and felt! But I liked most was the Witch part of the book, the feminism part was a big fail. I had to negotiate the world from THAT place: the loss, the pain, and being plunged into the depths of perpetual darkness, thinking I’d never return. More importantly, I didn’t want to return, having felt like I’d been thrown into the flames, submerged underwater AND been buried alive all at the same time. Lisa Lister is a badass leader of all things feminine. She is here to shine a light on all the shadows of patriarchy that we have all inherited. Witch is a book whose time has come and a response to the feminine that is rising within us all. Rise sister rise.’
